Atta Galatta, Bangalore
<\/strong>Opened nearly 9 years ago, Atta Galatta is not only a bookstore but also works as a venue for literary, art and cultural events. The place is known for focusing on and promoting Indian Vernacular Writing and supports regional writers. The store has successfully created a space and community for like-minded readers and enthusiasts.

Rachna Book house, Gangtok<\/strong>
Initially started by IAS officer Rajiv Shankar Shresta with his father JS Lal Shresta in 1979, the bookstore had its ups and downs and was eventually reopened by the third generation son Raman Shresta fifteen years later. Today it is a famous bookstore and an important cultural place in Gangtok. It also offers space for local artists, musicians and bakers. Owner Raman tries to push more and more classics among youngsters who walk into the store.

Literati Book Shop and Cafe, Goa<\/strong>
Housed in an old Goan building, the Literati Book Shop is another paradise for the readers. It has all sorts of books \u2013 sci fi, thriller, romantic, etc. and holds various events for the
bibliophiles. That\u2019s not all, it also has a caf\u00e9 so you can enjoy a hot cup of coffee along with your books.

Higginbothams Bookstore, Chennai<\/strong>
Established by Abel Joshua Higginbothams in 1844, Higginbotham\u2019s is India\u2019s oldest bookstore chain, spreading throughout street stores, airports and railway stations. The store aims and provides a broad selection of books, magazines, stationary and academic material.
