Celebrating the Stories of India
At Mugafi, we believe that great stories don’t just entertain – they connect, they heal, and they remind us who we are. This Independence Day, Likhega India was designed to celebrate the freedom to write, giving every writer – from every city, town and village – the platform to express what India means to them.
It was an open-themed contest. No genre limitation. No boundaries. No predefined box to fit into. Because true creativity deserves complete freedom.
Writers were invited to explore stories from the past, present, and future – tales rooted in memories, inspired by today’s realities, or imagining the world ahead. From heartfelt dramas and timeless romances to thought-provoking fiction, political thrillers, and futuristic worlds – every theme, every voice, and every emotion was welcome.
And the response was overwhelming. Stories poured in from every corner of the country, of love and loss, courage and conflict, dreams and destiny. Some drew from real experiences, others from imagination, but all had one thing in common: they came straight from the heart.
Empowering Writers, One Story at a Time
At its core, Likhega India wasn’t just a contest. It was an initiative to remind every writer – aspiring, practicing, or professional – that their words matter.
All participants wrote and submitted their stories using VED, Mugafi’s AI-powered writing tool designed to help writers craft, structure, and refine their stories like professionals.
Whether it was a first-time writer exploring their voice or an experienced storyteller perfecting their draft, VED helped bridge the gap between inspiration and execution.
Every participant also received a Certificate of Participation, acknowledging their creativity and effort – because every voice deserves recognition.

What winners have to say
“I see myself as an aspiring writer with many struggles. I’ve been writing fiction since childhood, mostly from what I feel and observe. Likhega India was my first online contest, and I never imagined winning first prize! Mugafi has been very supportive throughout. I want to advise fellow writers to write from your heart and stay true to your feelings.”
– Ateeb Qadir, 1st Prize Winner
“Mugafi is doing something truly special – something not many are doing in the country. They’re creating real opportunities for creative writers, helping young and emerging storytellers take their first big step. Winning this contest feels incredibly motivating, it inspires me to keep writing, to tell better stories, and to aim higher.”
– Pushpraj Zol, 2nd Prize Winner
“I’ve been writing since Class 3 and have penned over 10,000 poems and satires. Mugafi is a platform where writers truly get recognized. Winning 3rd prize feels amazing. My advice to new writers – learn from great Indian writers, write with complete involvement, and see yourself in your work.”
